Auction description:
Lot 271988 Jaguar XJS HE Coupe [Location: Melbourne]
1988 Jaguar XJS HE

Two owner car
Great condition
Chassis number: SAJJNAEW3BF140996
Engine number: 8S510408A

Well cared for by just two owners, the second a life-long car enthusiast, this 1988 Jaguar XJS HE is in very good condition throughout.
Australian-delivered by dealer Ron Hodgson (Parramatta, NSW) in March 1988, the Jaguar initially lived in the A.C.T before moving with its first owner to Queensland.
It then changed hands for the first and only time, 20 years later, in 2008 with just 77,000km recorded.
Our medico vendor has since taken that to just 86,197km in his subsequent 18 years’ ownership, a result of being used primarily for local travels and of being one of a number of ‘collector’ cars.
Presented in Bordeaux metallic with Parchment leather interior, the XJS is as it left the factory, save for some stone chips to the paint on the sloping bonnet, and slight damage to the factory stripe on the passenger door.
Inside, there’s the lightest of wear to the driver’s seat and woodwork remains in great condition, save some tiny cracks on the centre console and a little chipping around the edge of the central dashboard vent. The light-coloured carpets are unmarked, even the tools remain untouched in the boot.
This XJS, which has been regularly maintained by a retired European specialist mechanic visiting the vendor’s property, also comes with a full set of books in the original Jaguar folder and two sets of keys.
Our vendor advises that the left rear taillight does not currently work.
Australian delivered, transparent history, just two owners, low kilometres, particularly original condition … what’s not to love?
Previously on Victorian club registration, this 1988 Jaguar XJS HE is being offered for sale here unregistered.
