This 1988 Jaguar XJS is finished in Glacier White over Barley leather and powered by a 5.3-liter V12 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes heated power-adjustable front seats and a factory AM/FM cassette stereo. The car was registered in California before moving to Nevada, where it was acquired by the seller in April 2018. Subsequent service reportedly included repairing the fuel tank and hoses, servicing the transmission, replacing the engine fan, fan clutch, spark plugs, and plug wires, and performing a compression test. This XJS is now offered at no reserve with a window sticker, repair manual, manufacturer’s literature, spare parts, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Nevada title in the seller’s name.
The car is finished in Glacier White and features chrome-trimmed bumpers as well as fog lights, a power antenna, pinstripes, dual exhaust outlets, and heated side mirrors. The seller notes that one of the turn signals does not automatically cancel, and scratches in the paint and front spoiler.
Five-spoke 15″ wheels are wrapped in 215/70 Big O Euro Tour tires showing 2011 and 2010 date codes. A full-size spare is located in the rear cargo area and protected by a black wheel cover.
The cabin features Barley leather seating surfaces and wood trim on the dashboard, center console, and door panels. Amenities include heated power-adjustable front seats, power locks and windows, and a factory AM/FM cassette stereo. The seller notes that the trip computer is not fully functional, the cruise control is inoperable, the air-conditioning system has been converted to R134a refrigerant but does not blow cold, the main climate control vent mechanism does not open, and a fuel smell is present in the cabin at times.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The six-digit odometer shows 50k miles, less than 1k of which were added by the seller. The seller reports that the speedometer and odometer function intermittently, and true mileage is unknown.
The 5.3-liter V12 was rated at 263 horsepower and 278 lb-ft of torque when new. The seller states that the camshaft seals and water pump are leaking. The spark plugs and wires were replaced in April 2018, the engine fan and fan clutch were reportedly replaced during current ownership, and the hood struts, air filter, and spark plugs and wires were replaced in April 2021. A compression test was also performed at that time and the results ranged between 142 and 191 psi across all 12 cylinders.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission. Maintenance during current ownership reportedly included servicing the transmission and repairing the fuel tank and fuel hoses.
A window sticker, repair manual, manufacturer’s literature, and spare parts are included in the sale.
