This 1986 Jaguar XJ-SC is finished in Antelope Metallic over tan leather and is powered by a 5.3-liter V12 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Additional equipment includes a black soft top with removable roof panels, 15″ wheels, power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes, fog lights, air conditioning, and a Jaguar-branded AM/FM/cassette stereo. The car was sold new from Motor Sales Inc. of Winnipeg, Alberta, and was acquired by the selling dealer in 2021. Work in 2022 included resealing the engine, changing the fluids, renewing the suspension and braking and components, and replacing the battery, hoses, fuel filter, spark plugs, and plug wires. This XJ-SC shows 93k kilometers (~58k miles) and is offered by the selling dealer with manufacturer’s literature, service records, a clean Carfax report, and an Alberta registration.
The car is finished in Antelope Metallic (AFM) and features a black folding fabric top with removable roof panels. Additional exterior details include fog lights, a black lip spoiler, chrome-accented impact bumpers and side mirrors, rear splash guards, and dual polished exhaust outlets.
Five-spoke 15″ alloy wheels wear Jaguar-logo center caps and 215/70 Vredestein Sprint Classic tires that were reportedly mounted in January 2022. Braking is handled by power-assisted four-wheel discs. Service in 2022 included changing the power steering fluid, topping off the brake fluid, and replacing the brake master cylinder, front brake pads and rotors, upper ball joints, power steering hoses, and trailing arm and radius arm bushings.
The cabin features seating trimmed in tan leather along with a matching center console, door panels, and carpets. Wood veneers accents the dashboard and doors, and additional amenities include air conditioning, an onboard computer, power windows, cruise control, and a Jaguar-branded AM/FM/cassette stereo. The ignition switch was replaced in January 2022.
A two-spoke steering wheel frames a 260-km/h speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows 93k kilometers (~58k miles), approximately 1k of which have been added by the selling dealer.
The 5.3-liter V12 features electronic fuel injection and was factory rated at 262 horsepower and 290 lb-ft of torque. Work in 2022 included resealing the oil pan, valve covers, and intake manifold as well as changing the oil, flushing the coolant, and replacing the following components:
Half-moon seals
Oil pressure switch
Oil return hose
Throttle body gaskets
Fuel injector and injector sensor
Fuel filter
Battery
Spark plugs and plug wires
The selling dealer states that the fan tensioner pulley bearing is noisy during cold starts.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission. The transmission fluid was flushed and the filter and pan gasket were replaced in January 2022. The front sub-frame mounts were also renewed at the same time.
Documentation accompanying the car consists of manufacturer’s literature and service records that include a $7,751 invoice from a January 2022 service visit at X.J. Auto Service of Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
