Car returns to ebay 3/23/13
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/RARE-COLLECTABLE-1986-JAGUAR-XJSC-XJ-SC-CABRIOLET-46K-OR ...
Current bid $2,075 reserve not met, 14 bids 5 days left in auction. Car now said to be in Pompano Beach, Florida. 46k miles.
Sellers description:
HIGH VELOCITY CLASSICS is proud to offer for auction this 1986 JAGUAR XJ-SC CABRIOLET with the very rare (limited amount made) "Targa Top" coupe, with 46K original miles!
Originally the XJS's were sold as a 2 door coupe. In 1986 Jaguar contracted Ohio based Hess & Eisenhardt, coachbuilding company to develop a limited amount of convertibles for the 1986 model year. Hess & Eisenhardt took completed coupes, removed the roofs and installed retractable tops. Additionally, steel reinforcements were installed behind the driver's side seat for support. In all, just 893 "Targa type" convertibles were made before the official Jaguar-built XJS full convertible appeared in 1988.
This XJ-SC Cabriolet is equipped with a very solid 5.3 liter V12, producing 285 horsepower! These models are known to go 0 - 60 in 7.5 seconds. But more known for their incredibly smooth yet torque engine and of course their luxurious cabin. The previous owners maintained the car in immaculate condition and always had it serviced at their local Jaguar Dealer (see service record pics). The car drives and shifts smoothly and has no mechanical issues. All interior electrical functions operate properly, including power windows, seats and Air Conditioner. The T-Tops come off effortlessly, are in good condition and do not leak. The rear convertible top is easy to fold back and tuck into its' compartment. The original Jaguar Boot is included for stylish "topless" driving. With only 46K original miles, you can be confident that this British Survivor has plenty of enjoyable miles yet to travel.
We encourage you to come test drive the car prior to bidding if you are able.

Sellers description:
This is a rare 1986 Jaguar XJ-SC V12 with only 46,000 miles since new. It has the security, quiet and weather protection of a hardtop with the ability to pop the t-tops and pull the back in nice weather. It's in beautiful shape and turns heads everywhere it goes.
I like to give a full, honest assessment of every car I sell, so I'll just put everything I know below.
Mechanical: The car starts immediately, runs and drives great. The V12 purrs smoothly like it should. Car is rock solid on the highway. No creaks or noises. No leaks. I replaced the brake master cylinder (which was leaking - I hate leaks) and the alternator. The only things I've found are that the cruise control doesn't come on (haven't checked into it) and a couple of the gauges are flaky. Other than those things everything I could check works fine (power windows and mirrors, auto climate control, stereo, secondary controls, etc.). I've driven the car several times in town and on the highway and it feels and sounds like a Jag should.
Exterior: The exterior condition, like everything else, is more in line with the mileage than age. The paint is gorgeous with fabulous depth and clarity. Other than the details I'll list, there are no dings or blemishes. No scratches or oxidation, either. In the interest of full honesty, I'll detail every flaw I've found. There are two spots on the driver's fender that have been touched up. There is one ding on the hood. There are a couple small indentations on the passenger's side fender top. Other than those minor flaws, the body is truly beautiful. The wire wheels are new. The tires are new. Lenses and glass are like great. Chrome is very good. Top is excellent. All rubber except one seal around the drivers' rear window looks like new. No rust whatsoever. Paint is original and looks like a car with the Jaguar name (which is to say, beautiful).
Interior: Again, commensurate with its mileage. No cracks or stains in the leather. Carpets good and not worn. Chrome good. One crack in the dash not overly visible. The headliner of the drivers' side t-top is a little worn. All accessories, lights, etc. work. Wood is in beautiful shape. The wipers don't "park" properly, but everything else works fine. Top does not leak.
I just got it inspected 12/18. I have a carfax on it which I'd be happy to send you. No accidents or negatives at all on it.
I have lots of pictures and the car is available any time for a test drive if you're serious about it. It comes with the original manuals, original tool kit, and top boot (which looks like it's never even been used). The previous owner just left an open title and bill of sale, so you can do whatever you like with it.
