Carfax-certified with no accidents or damage reported - and no evidence of prior damage detectable upon our inspection - this 1986 Jaguar XJSC presents in stunning - highly original condition. The vehicle remains completely factory-spec throughout - with the sole exception of the currently fitted aftermarket wheels. The car has spent its entire pampered life in Southern California and is offered to us on consignment by its second owner - a longtime Newport Beach client and personal friend. We previously sold his Aston Martin DB7 just a few months ago - and his stewardship of this XJSC speaks volumes. He originally purchased the car from his employer when it was just a few years old - providing clear and well-documented provenance. Included with the sale is an extensive folder of service and repair invoices dating back to when the car was new--an increasingly rare and highly desirable feature for collectors. The overall presentation - originality - and documentation make this an especially compelling example for the Jaguar enthusiast. If there were ever a car with true future-classic potential - this is it. Of the 115 -413 XJS models produced worldwide - only 3 -415 XJSCs were built in left-hand-drive configuration - and it's believed that only a small fraction of those remain on the road today. The XJSC holds a special place in Jaguar history as the brand's first factory-built convertible - often referred to as the "Cabriolet." These cars were assembled at Browns Lane in Coventry - with their distinctive targa-style roof system--featuring removable front panels and a folding rear canvas section--engineered by Aston Martin Tickford and installed at the factory. A full-length "ladder" brace was added beneath the chassis to reinforce the open-body design. Across five model years - 5 -013 Cabriolets were produced and sold in 33 countries - offered with both V12 and inline-six engines. The majority remained in the UK. Notably - only 41 Cabriolets were allocated to the U.S. market in 1988 - all equipped with the legendary V12.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
