This 1989 Jaguar XJS convertible was first registered by the United States State Department as a diplomatic vehicle, and it spent time in California, Oregon, and Tennessee before the seller’s acquisition in 2015. The car is finished in Jaguar Racing Green with a Barley leather interior and is powered by a 5.3-liter V12 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes a power-operated black soft top, automatic climate control, heated and power-adjustable seats, alloy basketweave wheels, fog lights, an onboard computer, and a factory cassette stereo. This XJS shows 40k miles and is now offered with a clean Carfax report and a clean Arkansas title in the seller’s name.
The body is finished in Jaguar Racing Green (HEN) and features a power-operated black soft top with a glass rear window, fog lights, a front air dam, chrome accents, and dual exhaust outlets. The seller states the right-front fender and the hood were refinished in 2021, and the left taillight lens is cracked and covered by red tape at the top corner. The antenna motor does not work.
Factory 15″ basketweave alloy wheels with Jaguar center caps are wrapped in 235/60 BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. The car is equipped with four-wheel independent suspension and four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes.
The cabin features heated and power-adjustable seats upholstered in Barley leather with matching door panels. Burl wood veneers accent the dash, center console, and doors. Equipment includes cruise control, an onboard computer, Jaguar-branded sill plates, power accessories, and an AM/FM/cassette stereo. The heated seats do not function. The wood veneer trim around the shifter is cracked, the roof liner has wear spots, and a damaged portion of the passenger and driver window seals can be seen in the gallery.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and voltage. The six-digit mechanical odometer indicates 40k miles, approximately 3k of which were added by the seller.
The 5.3-liter V12 was factory rated at 262 horsepower and 290 lb-ft of torque. The seller states that the distributor cap and spark plug wires were replaced in 2021, and that the car has an oil leak.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission that was rebuilt in 2019.
