Ebay item 9/15/24www.ebay.com/itm/226352221491
Opening bid $4,000, no bids, no reserve, 6 days left in auction, seller star6199, 68k miles
Seller's description:
This is a 1986 Jaguar XJS with a 1985 Corvette 350 engine (with carburetor) and a 700R4 automatic transmission. Car runs great, great profile, and fun to drive with a good amount of torque. I purchased the car in 2008 and drove it from Bay City, TX to Grand Island, NE the only issue I had was that the fuel tank had rust flakes the size of silver dollars. The original tank was removed and a 16 gallon fuel cell was installed. It has newer Bridgestone 205/70R15 tires. A Kenwood Excelon stereo (KDC-X493 radio/CD/USB Port/Aux Port) works great. An original owners manual. Two sets of ignition and door keys, but only one trunk key.
Now information given to me by previous owner: 1967 Corvette Stingray hood scoop,a rebuilt high performance Corvette 350 engine with new parts: SCAT crank, MTC1 cam and lifters, adjustable double roller timing gear and chain, Eldelbrock EPS intake with a thunder series carb, Edelbrock Elite series valve covers, triangular air cleaner, polished aluminum timing gear cover, Accell HEI distributor and ignition, 8 mm Megawires, custom headers, turbo mufflers, big stainless muffler ends, dual electric radiator fans, new radiator, transmission shift kit. Car runs and drives great, the tachometer has been modified to read the V-8 engine , but the rack & pinion leaks and the piston shaft is scratched, so the power steering has no power, and the speedometer has never worked with the 700R4 transmission so odometer is wrong, power windows are slow and sometimes need help to go up.
In addition: The red lacquer paint is peeling in many spots - but I see no rust at this time, all windows are good, and no window leaks. The driver's seat cushion sits on a rubber diaphragm which has split (still OK to drive) I include a new diaphragm. There is a dead short somewhere in the wiring harness (the battery will discharge in 2-3 days or when the headlights are used for over an hour) I have installed a guillotine switch at the battery for when not driving.
