This 1988 Jaguar XJ-S V12 was built in March 1987, and it features a convertible conversion performed by Ohio-based coachbuilder Hess & Eisenhardt. The car was specified in Silver Birch over Buckskin leather upholstery, and it is powered by a 5.3-liter V12 linked with a three-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. Equipment includes a brown soft top, 15″ five-spoke alloy wheels, heated front seats, a cassette stereo, cruise control, and automatic climate control. The car was acquired by the seller in 2026, and recent work is said to have included cleaning and rebuilding the fuel rails, as well as servicing the air conditioning system. This XJ-S V12 is now offered at no reserve with manufacturer’s literature, spare parts, a car cover, an accident-free Carfax report, and a Florida title in the seller’s name.
Jaguar commissioned Hess & Eisenhardt to convert XJ-S V12 coupes into convertibles between 1986 and 1988. This example is finished in Silver Birch (MDJ) and is equipped with a brown soft top, quad headlights, front fog lights, chrome mirror caps, a power antenna, and dual exhaust outlets.
The 15″ five-spoke alloy wheels are mounted with 215/70 BFGoodrich Advantage T/A tires. Braking is provided by four-wheel discs.
The cabin features heated front seats upholstered in Buckskin (AFR) leather, along with burl wood veneer accents on the dashboard, center console, and door panels. Interior equipment includes a cassette stereo, cruise control, and automatic climate control. The seller tells us that the air conditioning system was serviced in preparation for the sale. The rear window switches function intermittently, according to the seller. A set of replacement switches in included in the sale.
A two-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline as well as gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, voltage, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 4k miles, approximately 100 of which were added under current ownership. The Carfax report lists “Not Actual Mileage Title Issued” entries in 1993 and 1995.
The 5.3-liter V12 was factory rated at 262 horsepower and 290 lb-ft of torque. The seller tells us that the fuel rails were removed and sent to a specialist to be cleaned and rebuilt.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. Additional photos of the underside condition are viewable in the gallery.
Manufacturer’s literature and two keys are included in the sale.
