Ebay item 2/9/12 cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1985-Jaguar-XJS-Very-low-miles-Dropped-valve-seat-/28082 ...
Current bid $1,025, no reserve, 4 bids 5 days left in auction.
Sellers description:
985 Jaguar XJS - 58,715 ORIGINAL miles.
Gray exterior, Mulberry interior.
The carpet and seats are worn and could use replacement. The drivers side seat diaphragm is broken. Wooden dash has the usual cracks.
Clearcoat is peeling on the roof and hood, and there are a few paint chips on the hood as well, but I think it looks quite good from a short distance.
There is some (pictured) rust on the floorboards that resulted from a clogged windshield drain. The car is otherwise rust free.
Virtually new Pirellli P200 tires, and an extra set of Starfish wheels are included.
This car was my daily driver until the valve seat dropped. It runs, but will not pass CA SMOG without this repaired. I have a new baby on the way and no time to do the work.
If bidding reaches $1,500, I will include a specialized tool which makes the removal of the XJS engine's head much, much easier than without it. It cost $500 new, and is quite rare.
This car has great restoration potential, but needs a new home.
