This 1995 Jaguar XJS 2+2 convertible was ordered new by Donald E. Petersen, who served as CEO of Ford Motor Company in the 1980s and oversaw Ford’s ~$2.5-billion acquisition of Jaguar Cars. The car later passed to Mr. Petersen’s son, from whom it was acquired by the current owner, and it now shows 24k miles. Power is from a 6.0-liter V12 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission, and the car is finished in Sapphire Metallic over Cream leather. Equipment includes a limited-slip differential, a power-retractable blue soft top, 16″ multi-spoke alloy wheels, heated power-adjustable front sport seats, an Alpine radio, a six-disc CD changer, cruise control, and automatic climate control. This XJS convertible is offered by the seller on behalf of the owner at no reserve with literature, nearly 50 pages of service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Michigan title in the owner’s name.
The car is finished in Sapphire Metallic (JGE) and features a power-retractable blue soft top and a beige boot as well as a Jaguar leaper hood ornament, dual exhaust outlets, a rear spoiler, and a telescoping antenna.
The 16″ multi-spoke alloy wheels are mounted with Pirelli P4 Persist AS Plus tires. Stopping power is provided by power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes.
The cabin features heated power-adjustable front sport seats and two rear bucket seats upholstered in Cream leather. Interior amenities include an Alpine radio, a six-disc CD changer, cruise control, and automatic climate control. Signs of wear are noted on the driver’s seat outer bolster, and the driver’s door seal is torn. The air-conditioning dryer was replaced in April 2022.
The four-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer as well as gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, voltage, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 24k miles.
The 6.0-liter V12 was factory rated at 278 horsepower and 351 lb-ft of torque. Recent work has included replacing the battery, radiator hoses, and water pump in August 2024 as well as oil lines, the idle-up control relay, radiator, and thermostat within the prior three years.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. Additional photographs of the underside are shown in the gallery below.
