Car returns to ebay 2/8/20

www.ebay.com/itm/1995-Jaguar-XJS-Convertible-Rose-Bronze-Low-miles/164071661964

Current bid: $5,600 reserve not met 8 bids 6 days left in auction, seller charvetclassics, 50k miles, listing says car now said to be in Lake Oswego, Oregon, previously Vancouver, WA.

Seller's description:

Listed on behalf of the owner.

This 1995 Jaguar XJS is an original, two-owner car that has been pampered since day one.

Sold by Monte Shelton Jaguar of Portland to the second owner in 1998 with 33,000 miles. 22 years later, it now shows just 50,026 miles on the odometer. (That's an average of just 772 miles per year between 1998-2020.) Always garaged. No accidents, damage or rust. Clean CarFax report.

The curent owner is a longtime Jaguar Club of North America member and has shown this XJS at national judging meets 6 times over the years. It is a SIX-TIME NATIONAL CHAMPION IN THE XJS CLASS, winning top honors every time it was shown. The owner has a cabinet filled with trophies garnered by this car. Suffice to say, this is likely the finest original 1995 XJS available today.

It wears the rare, factory "Rose Bronze metallic" paint (Code 795/SDL - A color, legend has it, designed for Princess Diana.) Just 47 XJS convertibles were produced in this color. The paint is absolutely flawless with a deep shine. The parchment leather interior is also gorgeous and shows no appreciable wear. The genuine wood accent trim is beautiful throughout. All accessories work as-new, including the heater/air conditioning, stereo CD changer, power windows, seats, etc. The original burgundy power convertible top looks and works as-new and includes a top boot.

Mechanically, this XJS is exceptional. The 4.0 litre, inline 6 cylinder engine runs smoothly and powerfully. The engine bay is fully detailed and looks like it just rolled out of the factory. 4-speed automatic transmission shifts perfectly. Brakes stop smooth and straight. I have personally driven this car and it runs and drives without fault. Always serviced on schedule by Jaguar specialists. Nothing has been deferred or neglected. All service records from 1998-2020 are included (see photo of the service file.) The flawless factory alloy wheels are wrapped by like-new Michelin Pilot Sport A/S radial tires.

If you are looking for a multiple award-winning XJS to show or go, this is the one. A reserve has been placed on this car in keeping with its rarity, condition and low-mileage.

Car returns to market 7/23

This XJS is a rare find. The story is that only 17 were produced in Rose Bronze with an oatmeal color for the interior. It is said that Princess Diana had a green XJS to match Prince Charles' Aston Martin, but when things were not going quite as planned, Diana chose to get a new XJS with a color unique to her. She proposed a color to the Jaguar Company and chose to call it rose bronze. Just prior to delivery of the car, she decided to spite the royal family and purchase a German Mercedes SL instead of another British Jaguar. Once that happened, Jaguar reneged on their promise to only make one and followed up with ten more with right hand drive, and seven that had left hand drive that were sent to the USA. This car is one of the seven. It was sold new in Portland, Oregon, spent the first three years of its life with one owner who put 30,000 miles on it, it then sold to a collector in Vancouver who put 20,000 miles on during the next 23 years taking it to car shows where it won six Concours d' Elegance titles. We then purchased the car two years ago and have put an addition 4,000 miles on the odometer. The car has full maintenance records and has been serviced by Precision European in Salt Lake City, Utah, for the last two years. It is driven regularly. The car has the 4 liter 6 cylinder DOHC engine with 4 valves per cylinder. As can be seen from the photos we are out of garage space and need to sell the XJS.
