This 1996 Jaguar XJS 2+2 Celebration Edition convertible is powered by a 4.0-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed automatic transmission and was acquired by the current owner in 2018. The car is finished in Carnival Red over Coffee leather and is equipped with a limited-slip differential, fog lights, a power-retractable beige soft top, 16″ alloy wheels, heated power-adjustable front sport seats, a six-disc CD changer, cruise control, and automatic climate control. This XJS convertible is now offered by the seller on behalf of the owner at no reserve with the owner’s manuals, service records, a car cover, a damage-free Carfax report, and a clean Maryland title in the seller’s name.
The car is finished in Carnival Red and features a power-retractable beige soft top as well as a convertible top boot, fog lights, a Jaguar growler hood emblem, dual exhaust outlets, and a telescoping antenna. Paint-meter readings are visible in the gallery below.
The 16″ alloy wheels are mounted with Pirelli Cinturato P7 tires. Stopping power is provided by power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes. The front wheel bearings were serviced in July 2018, and the front rotors and pads were replaced at that time. Curb rash is visible on one of the wheels.
The cabin features heated power-adjustable front sport seats and two rear bucket seats upholstered in Coffee leather, and the driver’s seat was repaired in July 2018. A dashboard cover has been fitted, and additional interior amenities include a six-disc CD changer, cruise control, and automatic climate control. The air conditioning low-side and high-side charge valves were replaced in August 2018 and May 2023, respectively. The trunk-lid struts were replaced in December 2019.
The leather- and wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer and a 7k-rpm tachometer as well as gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, voltage, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 58k miles, although the Carfax report shows a mileage inconsistency in July 2016 that “may just be a clerical error.” Approximately 2k miles have been added under current ownership.
The 4.0-liter inline-six was factory rated at 237 horsepower and 282 lb-ft of torque.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential.
