    Seen on eBay, February 2007:

"This auction is for a 1989 Jaguar XJS V12 Coupe.
Please note this vehicle is advertised in Miles not Kilometers.

The Jaguar XJ-S (later the XJS) was a luxury GT coupe from Jaguar. The XJ-S replaced the legendary
Jaguar E-Type in September, 1975, and was based on the XJ sedan. It had been developed as the XK-F,
though it was very different in character from its predecessor. Although it never had quite the
same sporting image, the XJ-S was a competent grand tourer and, in fact, more aerodynamic than the
    E-type.

Power came from the V12 version with a choice of a manual or automatic transmission. It could reach
60 mph (100 km/h) in 6.9 seconds and accelerate to 150 mph (240 km/h). The Group 44 racing team built
a successful Trans Am race car based on the XJ-S, and the car won the series' 1977 manufacturers'
    championship cup.

As Jaguar buyers demanded more features and luxury, especially in the US, the XJS was equipped
with power windows, power locks, climate control, improved noise and heat insulation and full
instrumentation. Mechanically, the heart of the XJS was the V12 engine, its turbine like smoothness
and seemingly endless torque quickly became the XJS selling point.

Up for auction is this Luxurious 1989 Jaguar XJS V12 Coupe. This elegant vehicle comes fully
    equipped with a 5.3 litre V12 producing 285hp at 5500rpm and over 300 lb./ft of torque at 3500rpm.
The exterior is black complemented with a full tan leather interior and wood accents. Loaded with
power options including, windows, locks, brakes, steering and climate control with working A/C.
Solid car throughout, paint shows normal signs of aging, interior leather in good shape. Overall
the car runs and drives great. A Luxury Coupe with smooth Aggressive Performance and
    Classic Styling."

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
