The XJ-SC benefitted from the many improvements introduced to the early 80s XJS, including tweaked cosmetics, much-improved quality and the ‘High Efficiency’ HE V12 motor.
The vendor bought this car in 2020 and reports that he has spent £25,000 across the purchase and improvement of the car. That resulted in an advisory-free MOT in February 2021. It has been unused since, but the engine has been checked by a Jaguar mechanic and reported to be in good order.
The car will require some structural commissioning and general check-overs. For the right enthusiast, this looks like an interesting project with a very rewarding classic to enjoy at the end of it.

Recent MoT test certificate
This Jaguar XJSC HE was first registered on 1st September 1985. The previous owner purchased the car in 2020 and in his ownership, he had work carried out on the brakes, suspension and had the petrol tank refurbished. Our vendor acquired the car last year with a view to having some minor body repairs carried out and to that end for a new MoT he had the nearside rear suspension mounting repaired and outer sill replaced. Finished in silver with the classic black leather interior and black detachable roof sections which are in very good condition and indicates the mileage of 35,400 miles could be correct. Our vendor is having to part with this ‘big cat’ due to poor health. Supplied with a V5 registration document, an MoT test certificate which expires in November 2026 and a file containing service history and old MoT test certificates. Today, the Jaguar XJS HE is appreciated as a stylish, charismatic classic that showcases Jaguar’s commitment to innovation and luxury.
