BUILT BY TWR AND JAGUAR FOR THE 'JAGUAR SPORT' DIVISION ....RARE IN AUSTRALIA AND THE UK
1988 WAS THE START OF THE RARE SERIES OF XJS's DESIGNATED AS XJR-S. IN AUGUST 1988 THE 1ST SERIES OF XJR-S's WERE BUILT ALL NUMBERED 1-100 AND DESIGNATED AS THE 'LE MANS' 'CELEBRATION' MODEL COMMEMORATING THE RECENT JAGUAR LE MANS VICTORIES BY TWR.....THE FIRST SERIES OF XJR-S IS THE MOST COLLECTABLE.....AND THIS IS ONE OF THE RARE 100 VEHICLES BUILT.
ALL LE MANS CARS HAD THE FOLLOWING FACTORY MODIFICATIONS:
* BODY KIT INCLUDING F+R BUMPERS, SIDE SKIRTS AND REAR SPOILER.
* BLACKED OUT GRILL AND LIGHT TRIMS WITH ALLOY 'XJR-s' BADGE AT REAR.
* SPECIAL 15" SPEEDLINE WHEELS AS FITTED TO ALL TWR CARS AND ALL XJR-S's UP TO 1992

* TUNGSTEN ONLY COLOUR SCHEME TO THE 1ST 100 CARS
* DOESKIN INTERIOR WITH BLUE PIPING, AND 'XJR-S' EMBOSSED IN HEADREST.
* SPECIAL SAPWOOD WALNUT TIMBER TRIM, DOESKIN GEAR KNOB AND STEERING WHEEL.

THE CAR STARTS AND RUNS.
AS IS TYPICAL OF UK CARS THERE IS BODY RUST. DRIVERS SIDE DOOR AND BOTH REAR WHEEL ARCHES ARE THE WORST. ALSO VARIOUS BITS OF BUBBLING AROUND THE CAR. IT WOULD NEED RUST TO BE CUT OUT AND CAR TO BE TOTALLY REPAINTED TO DO IT JUSTICE.
HAVING SAID THAT, FLOORS HAVE NO RUST NEITHER DOES BONNET, BOOTLID, AND BOOT. ALL JACKING POINTS ARE SECURE. UNDER THE CAR THERE IS SURFACE RUST TO FRONT AND REAR END BUT APPEARS OPERATIONAL OTHERWISE.
INTERIOR IS VERY TIDY, THERE IS NO HEADLINING BUT I WILL SUPPLY A COMPLETE GOOD HEADLINING..... RADIO HAS BEEN REMOVED AND I WILL SUPPLY AN ORIGINAL REPLACEMENT.
AS JAGUAR XJS ENTHUSIASTS ARE AWARE THESE ARE VERY RARE VEHICLES, AND WERE ONLY OFFERED TO THE UK MARKET AT THE TIME. THERE ARE POSSIBLY ONLY 1 OR 2 LE MANS 'CELEBRATION' CARS IN AUSTRALIA.
